The Swiss Cooperation Programme with North Macedonia for the period of 2021-2024 has been announced

Since 1992, Switzerland has supported North Macedonia in its political, social and economic development.

Through  numerous projects and programs, including the one for Empowering Municipal Councils, Switzerland contributes to improving the quality of life of the citizens of our country, strengthening the democratic institutions and practices, promoting inclusive economic growth, and protection of its natural resources.

Empowering Municipal Councils is a project designed to increase transparency and accountability in local government by strengthening municipal councils in their functions, particularly in overseeing local budgets. The main aim of the project is to support municipalities in achieving greater openness and inclusiveness, helping to build public trust in local institutions.
